Hanukkah starts tonight
Next door to us the neighbor

And across the street a snowman
In a six foot glowing sphere
We will make our contribution
To repel the winter night
We'll fire up our menorah
And add our Hanukkah light
We'll sing about the Maccabees
Their struggle and their toil
How they restored the Temple
And found that pot of oil
Now we have it so much easier
Than those who came before
It doesn't take a miracle
Just candles from the store
Tonight we're part of millions
In every street and lane
Who say "sheh asah nissim"
And light a little flame
Who take some wax and matches
And watch as they ignite
Forget about the winter for…
